World's tallest man and shortest woman hang out at Pyramids

The world's tallest man met the world's shortest woman in Egypt for a photo shoot in front of the Gizah Pyramids one of the famous Ancient Egypt monuments. Sultan Kosen, a 35-year-old from Turkey, stands at 8ft 3in, making him the tallest man on the planet, while 24-year-old Jyoti Amge from India is the shortest woman in the world at just over 2ft tall.

The two Guinness Wold Record holders met in Cairo last Friday as part of a new campaign aiming to revive the country's struggling tourism industry.
With more than 6ft between them, Kosen and Amge made a striking pair while they posed for photos in front of the Giza Pyramids.

In one snapshot, Kosen and Amge are standing next to each other while waving at the awe-struck tourists who came to see them.

Another photo shows Kosen sitting down next to a standing Amge, and despite his significant decrease in height, he is still towering over her.

It was both Kosen and Amge's first trip to Egypt after being invited to the North African country by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board.
The two are expected to visit other well-known Egyptian sites during their stay.

According to the Guinness World Records, Kosen is the first person in more than a decade to measure over 8ft and is one of only 10 confirmed cases in history.

While he is the tallest man in the world, his family members are all average size. Kosen was also normal height up until his growth spurt when he was 10 years old.

His massive size is the result of a condition known as 'pituitary gigantism,' which is caused by an over-production of growth hormone.

Kosen, who was unable to complete school because of his size, worked as a farmer to support his family.
