you willÂ start the tour in Cairo by visitingÂ the Pyramids of Giza; you will see the largestÂ pyramid of Khufu (Cheops),Â known as the Great Pyramid, is the onlyÂ one of the Seven Wonders of the WorldÂ that still survives. Next to the great pyramid are the pyramids of the sonÂ ChephrenÂ and the grandsonÂ Mycarinous, you'll be able to take a close up look atÂ the Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the huge funeral complex with its lion body and the head of King Chephren, the tour also includes a visit toÂ the Valley Temple, the place where the priests mummified the dead body of King Chephren, owner of the second pyramid.
You'll enjoyÂ lunchÂ at Â a nice local restaurant, thenÂ proceed toÂ SaqqaraÂ (the necropolis of the Ancient Egyptians) to viewÂ the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the worldâ€™s oldest large-scale stone monument. Learn why it was built.
Â Â Â Â Then you'll continue your day tour toÂ Memphis city, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx are. This city dates back to 3100 BC.Â Overnight in Cairo at 5* hotel.
Start your tour by discovering the most interesting museum;Â the Egyptian Museum,Â whichÂ displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art which is considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 120,000 artifacts are presented, including an exhibit dedicated toÂ Tutankhamen collectionÂ of treasure, gold and jewelry which was enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before it was discovered in the 1922, when his tomb was excavated.
Then proceed to visitÂ Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, whichÂ Situated on the summit of theÂ Citadel of Salah El DinÂ (constructed in 1183 AD), this Ottoman mosque is the largest to be built in the first half of the 19th century, and the most visible mosque in Cairo.Â
Â Â LunchÂ will be served in a local restaurant, then continue driving to the area Â Old Cairo;Â first stop Â will be theÂ Hanging ChurchÂ which, built in the 7th century, this old church takes its name from its location: sited above a gateway in theÂ old Roman fortress. Admire the courtyard and interior with its screens, marble pulpit and icons, and hear about its long history. Then proceed to visitÂ Abu Serga church, where the holy family is said to have found refuge. Then, take a look at theÂ Ben Ezra Synagogue, once a Christian church.Â Finally you will be escorted by your guide back to your hotel in Alexandria.
